TGCT: Starting The New School Year Right

“I’m not happy boys.  Not. Happy.  Ask me why.”  The stressed mother spoke, loaming over the table where her two children sat.

“Why?”  One of them meekly replied.

“Why what?  Be specific boys.”

“Why are you unhappy?”

“Your grades make me unhappy.  Every semester they creep lower, Cs then Ds and now Fs!  How low are you going to let them go?!?”

“We’re sorry” the twin brothers replied.  

“Sorry doesn’t get you to college.  Sorry doesn’t get you a career.”

“We’re trying… the classes are just too hard...”

“Don’t dump sugar on shit and tell me it’s chocolate!  You do poorly because you two keep getting into fist fights.  Every week, it’s the same story of how some guy was bullying you two, and you had to act self defense.  You’re lucky you haven’t gotten expelled yet!”

The brothers stood up in protest, “It’s not our fault-”

“You’re right it’s not.”  Their Mom interrupted.  “I think it’s time we get right to the source of the problem.  Your testosterone fueled rage.”  The dimly lit kitchen fell silent for a moment, while the brothers puzzled over what she meant.

The mother stepped back and began pacing across the cold tiles as she spoke, the boys sank back into their seats.  “I have an… acquaintance skilled in the stuff of fairytales.  She can place a curse on you until the end of second semester.  It’ll turn you into girls, and we’ll transfer you into a different school.”  
“Oh, I get it.”  one of the brothers spoke up.  “You’re telling us this so your actual plan doesn't sound so extreme.”

“Nope.  I’m being deadly serious.”  

“Oh come on.” The other whined.  “You’re going to punish us by turning us into girls?”

“It’s not a punishment”  She raised her tone.  “I know you can do well if we remove your old temptations and distractions.  So, new school, new people, new gender.  It’ll be an academic reset, allowing you to calm down, stop fighting, and focus on school.  I also want to stress I’m not forcing you gir- boys, to do this.  It’ll be your choice, but I really do believe it is for the best.“

“Okay,” one of them slammed his fist on the table.  “I’m man enough to not be a man.”  

“What?!” The other turned in shock.  “You’ll become a girl, just like that?”

“Why not?  The only people we really knew at school were the ones we beat up or were beaten up by, and a temporary gender change shouldn’t be too big a deal.”

“Fine.”  He cursed under his breath, “If you’re so confident I’ll do it too.”

*One Month Later*

“Hurry it up, we’re gonna be late again!”  The sister called out, with a skip in her step.

“It’s just stupid geography, who gives a crap?!”  The other said, her voice dripping with disdain.

“I do, and you should.  Why do have to be so angsty about everything?  All in all, this turn into girls deal, has been pretty good.”

“Pretty good?  My entire identity has  been thrown out the window.  How can I still be myself, when everything I’m suppose to do, and every way I’m suppose to look is so ass-backwards?”  She through her arms up in frustration.

“It’s really not that bad, (if fact it’s better) my anger is cold instead of explosive, and I’m more empathetic.  But it’s more or less the same as before.” she explained with a joyful expression.

“Do you even hear yourself?  You’ve changed.  This whole studying and acting girly thing; it’s a betrayal of everything we used to do.”

“Look, we’re stuck like this for the rest of the school year.  So you can bitch and moan about your cliche identity crisis, or you can just roll with it and enjoy yourself.”

“And get brainwashed like you?  No Thank you.”

“Oh, I get it.  You haven’t masturbated as a girl yet have you?”

“What?!” Her face lit up in bright red. “What kind of loaded question is that?”



“You really should.  It helped me adjust a lot.”  She gave a coy smile.

“Whatever.” She muttered, unable to meet her sister’s gaze.

“I’m serious, you’ll never feel comfortable in that body if you don’t take it for a little test drive.”

“Yeah, whatever.”

“Don’t make me do it to you myself.”

“Ah!  What is wrong with you?”

“Loosen up!  I was joking...  But let’s do some other girly things after school, like each other's makeup, it’ll help.”
